Topping up my X'mas present

Spent $69 to get a 8gb memory stick, then another $20 to get a case, $29 for the matching Sony earphones. That's like $100++ liao and then bought 2 games and still couldn't find a strap yet. This PSP is like so costly lor LOL

My first X'mas Present

Yeah!!! I got my first X'mas gift. And it's the long awaited, much anticipated PSP. And it comes in the limited Deep Red edition *BIG grinZ*

But it certainly didn't come for free lor! I had to volunteer to paint the window grills in exchange for the PSP. And I certainly had to toil and moil for it! End up with a blister on my index finger from the stupid paint brush. Didn't know the brush can be so rough on the hand :O

So whatever happen to the spirit of giving?? I had to work for my present lor. But I certainly lurve my PSP :))

So damn cheap lor...think it's only like $20 for the whole day till 6pm with free flow of drinks! And that's not all. The room comes with disco lights, spot light and even smoke machine wor lol It doesn't have Jocie's Mice Love Rice though ;p Really sang ourselves hoarse lor. Oh yah...the place is Top One. Highly recommended! ;>

It has been another week...

Can't go beach volleyball today and can't go badminton either. Stuck at home to pore through my tonnes of homework!!! *groanZ*

Anywayz, had a funny dream last nite. Was dreaming that I was bowling with the Twisted Fury Solid wor! What kind of a dream is that??? LOL I mean, I'm not exactly obsessed with it or anything...just casually told HL and Jeff I wanna get it the moment it becomes available. Then start dreaming of it in my sleep liao DOTS

Oh yah...and with the spate of earthquakes happening in Japan, I think the year end holiday plans will be re-looked again....Damn

Ball games...

Let's start with Beach.Ball.Babes.

Ok lah...but like nothing much about court volleyball leh, no drama about the game per se or sportsmanship being mention. All the stories revolved around the characters not about volleyball. Quite disappointing lor. It's like the exact same stories with the same characters can be renacted through playing netball, or soccer, or any other ball games or non-ball games. LOL At least, they could have added Fiona Xie or Felicia Chin for more eye candies!!! *grinZ* Unlike The Winning Team, all the stories revolved around volleyball itself. They should screen this again on national TV, not just on MobTV man.

And...I want the Twisted Fury Solid!!! It looks like a cut above my current Twisted Fury. Plus the fact that it's the hottest, the latest, the newest. But damn...I'm not going US again any time soon, which means I gotta pay the exorbitant local price for that ball wor DOTS

Lunch at Coca

Yup, the steamboat craze is back...so the whole family decided to go Coca for a steamboat lunch ;p~

No school today cos it's Youth Day wor. Went to the one at International Building and found out that thee's only 2 Cocas left lor. The other one is Ngee Ann City.

Ok lah....the food seems so-so now. The variety looks like a lot less. But I shan't complain since I'm getting student price lol

After that did some shopping at Isetan Scotts before coming home.

Beach Volleyball @ Sentosa

We decided to head for Sentosa for some sun, sand and the sea this week! ;>

Was supposed to meet at 9.30am. But don't remember hearing the alarm at all lor LMAO So when I finally meet up, it was 10.30am...

And when we started our beach volleyball, I was immediately reminded why I don't play it often!!! The scorching sun was still ok with the sun block...but the scrapping sand was simply unbearable lor. Aiyoh!!! I'm right now nursing my tender feet which has been so torturously abrased this morning DOTS

Left Sentosa at about 3pm and headed for Katong for the supposedly famous prawn mee ;p~

Went to M'sia for a bilateral game for volleyball, which we won 4-1. YEAH!!! Then went on a short trip to Thailand...and that's about all the highlights there are to my holidays. And school is starting again soon *groanZ*

Was supposed to have gone Korea then last minute change to Bangkok. Kinda felt short changed siah. And then I was in the midst of deciding which ATM card to bring for my shopping, and ended up forgetting to bring either!!! bleah In the end, can't draw any $$$ there so it was kinda like a budget trip lor. Surviving on whatever bahts I was given. Never shopped sooooooo conservatively before lor, must plan and scrimp. So pathetic! Luckily managed to squueze more bahts out of Sally LOL So lesson learned....ATM card, beside credit cards, don't leave home without it! LMAO

May go beach volleyball this Sat. See how first....

Now, already looking forward to the year holidays, man LOL And hopefully, the long awaited much anticipated Japan/Hawaii trip to manifest then :))

Belated B'day Gifts

Oh dear!!! I just realise I owe so many people belated b'day gifts siah! And by the time, they get them, it'll really be b-e-l-a-t-e-d wor DOTS

What to do...I've been so busy buying gifts for myself till I forgot LOL Been in an emo mood so went on retail therapy and bought myself a new handphone, a new desktop and a new bowling bag. So in the end, it doesn't seem so bad to be feeling the blues once in a while too *grinZ*

Workout weekend

Saturday started pretty early with tennis. Finally got to try out the new racket I got back from the States last year. And boy, I really love IT!!! The Prince O3 Royal *BIG grinZ*

Then went to volleyball in the afternoon. And the turn out today was just great too :)) Had quite a few nice games. In fact, most games were nice lah...which is usually case when we have lotsa people.

Thought could end the day with bowling, but guess most were tired liao...plus HL wasn't feeling too well, and Jeff also has bowled the night before.

But dinner was fantastic too. Went to The Vines (I think). Ordered myself a venison steak, which was really tasty and succulent ;p~ And most of all, the price was non-exhorbitant ;>

May Day's Eve

Woah! Super happening siah!!! :)

Actually, Jeff chioed bowling but had already pre-planned a nite of party liao. So I guess I have to hang on to my new found skill a little longer before debutting *grinZ*

Started at Timbre Substation. We were like 17 minutes late lah, and our table was given away. WTH! So had to wait another hour just to get a table. Then stayed till about 10.30pm, recees at Zouk said queue was alright so we proceeded.

But by the time we reached there, the "full house" sign was up lor and only Velvet was left. They didn't check IC though LOL BUT then Zouk was like OOB till 3.30am lor. But then late 2am+, they allowed us entry liao. And we partied till 5am! ;>

Reached home only like 6am but luckily, Sally and Philip are still sleeping lor. So had a quick shower and sneak into bed. Didn't wake up till like 2pm today...and still stoning

Bowling & Volleyball

Didn't do much volleyball yesterday. Actually didn't do volleyball at all! lol

Went for my bowling again. And once again, the instructress make me look so noob when she bowled with my ball and put so much rev to it! And that was like 3 1/2 hours of non-stop bowling lor, so after that would have been too tired for volleyball liao. But then still need to go and collect jerseys so end up, just meeting the volleyball guys for dinner...at Nihon Mura.

Love that place, man! ;p~ So much variety and so cheap lor. The sushis go for half the price of Sakae's. And even the sashimis have more variety and comparatively cheaper too!! Although it was a la carte, we were grabbing everything like buffet style lor LMAO

Oh yah...and I mentioned volleyball cos I'm selected for the team to play the bilateral games in Malaysia. In fact, I'm going to captain the team wor DOTS Oki, don't think so much about it. Just go there and have fun ;>

The 20 Days of X'mas (Part III)

Day 6

This is the day Auntie Cai is soooooooo excited lor! Cos her dardar coming to join us today. So early morning, we went to LA airport to pick him up.

After that, we made our way to Hollywood! *grinZ* Went to the Walk of Fame. Took pictures with Arnold Schwarzenegger's handprints since he's governor or California. Then went all over looking for Harry Potter's, Hermione's and Ron's handprints. Lamer lor. Then went to Ripley's museum. Some exhibits were just plain gross. Think we spent another few hours in Oakley's lor! And I got the Radar, so I'm not complaining lol.

And soon it was dark liao! Quite fast lah since it's winter. So we made our way back to Holiday Inn Hotel. Tonite we staying at this place just opposite Staples Centre wor, which is the home of the LA Lakers!!! But couldn't get any tix leh, all sold out liao. So near yet so far DOTS

Went to Denny's for supper then called it a nite.

Day 7

Another friend of Auntie Cai joined us today from San Francisco. We gonna stay at his place when we go there later.

Anyway, today so exciting for me cos we're setting off for Las Vegas!!! *BIG grinZ* Always see it being featured on TV. Looks so glamorous can! Stoppd at Barstrow on the way. And then it was an afternoon of shopping again!!! And this time the boot was like full beyond hope. So we end up having to having shopping bags strewn all over our laps for the rest of the journey to Las Vegas. Looks like we're not gonna make that glam entry into L.V. after all lor lol

It was evening when we reached Las Vegas but quite dark already, as usual. We'll be staying at the Hooters Casino Hotel for the next 2 days. Not too bad cos we're just next to the famous, or infamous, The Strip, although it looks quite small compared all the majestic IRs wor

Jumper

Yeappss! Just watched that Jumper movie! So coolz man!!! I wanna jump too! ROFL

Oki, here's some terms for noobs to jumping. A jumper is one who can teleport, so to teleport is to jump. And the places that a jumper often jumps to are called jump sites. And the people who go after the jumpers to apprehend them are called paladines (I think)

Imagine going to tour without have to spend time flying to the destination and back and without spending money to buy the air tix! That's jumping lor! lol

Oki...so it's back to school after the long CNY break. Back to mundane routine life lor DOTS

The 20 Days of X'mas (Part II)

Day 4


We went to hire a car from Hertz to make the journey to San Diego. Wanted a compact car but they were only left with full-size (which we will later appreciate! lol) so took it. It's a Buick Lacrosse.

Drop by at Dessert Hills Factory Outlet on the way there. And this is where we spent half the day...S-H-O-P-P-I-N-G. All the big brands are like sooooooooooooooooooooooooo CHEAP wor!!! A/X, PRL, Nike, Coach, Guess, DKNY, CK, Oakleys, etc, etc, and etc. So this is when our car boot start filling up! LMAO

By the time we finally reach San Diego, it was totally dark, partly cos it's winter time too. We had a late dinner before retiring at Days Inn Suites.

Day 5

San Diego is just like LA, I think. At least, the town is similar lah. Then we headed to this little island called Conorado. It's really slow paced and tranquil. Kinda reminds me of Tasmania lor, minus the lobster! lol So spent the morning there. Really nice ;> Then there was this ice skating rink by the seaside lor in front of this really ancient hotel. Can't remember the name liao. But it's soooooo cool....literally and figuratively heheh

Then headed back to mainland and went on to Balboa Park. Think it's supposedly the biggest man-made park in the world. Went to a few museums. And they also have these little huts, each representing one country of the United Nation, some were manned, some were not.

After that, we headed to their famous wharf. Can't remember what it's called liao. Sorry lah, STM can ;p Anywayz, took some nice pics then discover they were having this Festival of Lights event tonite. So decided to stay to watch that before heading back to LA.

The Festival of Light thingy was actually all these yachts nicely decorated with all kinds of lightings, some like Santa and reindeer sleigh, some pirates, etc. Quite a visual spectacle overall albeit having out butts frozen off seated on the stone cold breakwater throughout.

Then made the arduous night drive back to our Quality Inn & Suites in LA.

And the last 3 days, yes, including the eve, have been binge-ing fest lor. It's like all the seafood delicacies, all the bakkwa and all the meaty stuffs. Think cholesterols, fats and calories lor! DOTS

Oki, I promise to re-cap my trip to US...so here is part 1 (to the best of my memories...) ;>

Day 1

Left on 5 Dec in the evening 5pm+ on SQ. And guess what?!!! I got to use T3, which makes me amongst the pioneers....hahahaaa. So they gave us DFS vouchers, which I utilised immediately, plus contributions from Auntie Cai and Uncle Chong, so I only pay $19 for my CK *grinZ*

Reached LA airport at 6pm+ the same day! Like just 1 hour of flight hor?!! lol Then Auntie Cai kinda detained by airport security siah. So that kinda took 3 hrs before we can leave just waiting for her lor DOTS

Finally reached our Quality Inn hotel in their so-called Korean Town at 10pm+. And they kinda concussed in bed almost immediately! The 2 elderlies lor...so CMI!!! So that concluded such an uneventful Day 1

Day 2

Woke up like 6am+. Didn't think I slept well. Can the police siren on and off the whole nite through siah. Kinda scary...

Yeah!!! It's DisneyLand :)) But turns out a little disappointing cos majority of the rides and themes are similar to the Tokyo one which I just went last year DOTS Tried the grilled giant turkey leg which Flo highly recommended. Ok lor...so so, nothing spectacular. Even the shops, I think Tokyo has more kawaii stuff. But since this is supposedly the original DisneyLand, try to enjoy the atmosphere lor lol

Went back in the evening. Then had dinner in a Korean restaurant around our hotel. Lurve the kim chi ;p~ And that's Day 2

Day 3

Theme park No.2....Universal Studios! Yeapps!!! Again...it's quite the same as Tokyo's lor. And I think the Spiderman ride in Tokyo is like incomparable. Of cos, they don't even have it here! lol And Auntie Cai was like saying she came here NINE years ago and sat the Jurassic Park ride for ELEVEN times. And the ride is still around unchanged lor LMAO

Left in the early part of evening so that has some time to shop around the Universal Studio Walk. And of cos paid a pilgrimage to Hard Rock Hollywood and was told the LA one closed down. Then headed to Chinatown.

And specially went for dinner at the restaurant Jackie Chan filmed Rush Hour. Food is not bad and really taste like Chinese food ;p~

High Tea at Carousel

Wow!!! So long never blog le...

Anywayz, went for high tea at Carousel today at Royal Plaza on Scotts ;p~ Went there for dinner once sometime back, but that was before the renovation. Now that it's newly renovated, kinda reminds me of The Line's layout at Shangri La.

The food is ok lah. Most impressive spread is the cold spread of seafood and the desserts. Everything else is normal lor lol But the best part is...I don't have to pay, it's F-R-E-E *BIG grinZ*

Well, hi!!! :) Happy new year, everyone! Haven't had the time to update since. Went to the States for holidays from Dec 5 to Christmas. And then, there was so much catching up to do with friends over the last week of holidays before school starts. And then, Shall school starts of cos. And now, it's already the 2nd week of school *DOTS* Shall update about my US trip when I have the time and if I can still recall lol
